Repair or Replace?
The decision to replace an old appliance may seem like the easier option when it doesn't work properly, but before you go out and buy another one let's consider if there are any other solutions.
A lot of these problems arise from age; as our appliances get older they tend not only do less efficiently (which makes them harder) or break altogether sooner than expected.
If you think your appliance is broken, don’t panic. Before calling a service tech make sure that it:
- is plugged in and the circuit breakers haven't tripped
- Check the isolation switch on the wall as it may be faulty, not your appliance
- Vents and/or filters aren't clogged
- If you have had a power outage, always ensure that when the power is back on that the clock is set on your oven.
There are certain things that can be repaired before thinking you need to replace it:
- Cracked glass hob
- Broken knobs
- Faulty light fittings and or switches
- Faulty thermostat
HOW MUCH DOES AN APPLIANCE REPAIR COST?
To come out an test through your appliance it cost $99. This includes travel and onsite testing to determine the fault. From there we can provide a quote with our recommendations and cost of repair and/or replacement.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR APPLIANCE INSTALLATIONS?
For supply and installation of a replacement appliances, it can vary between $135+gst-$270+gst. It all depends on what you are replacing.
CAN YOU CHANGE FROM GAS TO ELECTRIC?
You can change from gas to electric. It will likely require an new circuit to be run to the switchboard and a gas plumber to diconnect the existing appliance.
WHAT APPLIANCES DO WE REPAIR AND INSTALL?
We are able to test through and repair all kitchen cooking appliances, rangehood and bathroom exhaust fans. We are able to replace these appliances along with freestanding dishwashers and dishwasher drawers
CAN WE DO INSTALLATION ONLY?
We are happy for you to arrange your own appliances. We can install your new appliance and dispose of your old one if required.
